The Nephrology Service cares for patients with kidney problems and treats the diseases that can cause kidney failure.
The service treats people as both inpatients and outpatients and operates across the Cheshire & Merseyside region. The Nephrology Service (also known as renal medicine) works closely with the Renal Transplant Team.
The central hub operates out of the Royal Liverpool University Hospital with dedicated renal wards and dialysis units. There are eight dialysis units across the regional footprint, as well as a 24/7 renal service operated from Aintree University Hospital and a dedicated Home Therapies Team.
Broadgreen, Halton, Southport, St Helens and Knowsley, Warrington and Waterloo
The Dialysis Units provide outpatient dialysis therapy, allowing our patients to receive treatment closer to home.
