Medical photography, also known as clinical photography, is the term used to allow a range of medical conditions and diseases to be imaged by trained photographers.
Our photographers cover a wide range of specialities across our Trust, from the wards to theatres.
Photography is requested by clinical teams to help diagnose a patient’s injury or illness, or for recording a condition during the stages of treatment.
Photographs can be taken in either a clinical setting or our studio setting. Colleagues follow a strict code of ethics, respecting the privacy and dignity of each patient.
More information
Patients based on our wards are referred into the service by the clinical teams caring for them. A member of the Medical Photography team will then attend the ward.
Outpatients at Aintree University Hospital will have a studio appointment booked for them on the day they attend a clinic.
Outpatients at Broadgreen Hospital and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital that aren’t photographed during clinic are asked to contact the Medical Photography team on 0151 706 2886 and arrange an appointment themselves.
