Our Cardiology Service is provided at both the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and Aintree University Hospital, we deliver diagnostics and treatments for patients with a wide range of cardiac illnesses and conditions.
We offer a range of tests to help us understand the problem and enable us to make a diagnosis. We are then able to provide a suitable pathway to manage your symptoms and help you on the path to recovery.
We also offer cardiac rehabilitation to support you, if you have suffered a heart attack and in addition to medication, our key aim is to provide preventative care in the form of advice and guidance to keep your heart healthy and reduce the risk of you becoming unwell.
Our service also extends to Heart Failure Support, including a Community Heart Failure Service and Cardiac Rehabilitation.
We have a team of Cardiology Consultants as well as Junior Doctors, Specialist Nursing Staff, Ward Staff an Operational Team who work on dedicated cardiology wards on both Aintree University Hospital and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital to guide you through your cardiology journey.
At the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, we have two Cardiology wards, Acute Cardiac Unit (ACU), and Ward 6A, which is our step-down ward from ACU. This is where our patients go when they no longer require as much specialist care.
At Aintree University Hospital our wards are Ward 8 and Ward 9.
