The Department of Medicine for Older People specialises in the management of people over the age of 65 years and provides comprehensive and holistic management to our patients alongside the wider multidisciplinary team of therapists, pharmacists, and nursing staff.
We manage conditions such as falls, dementia and delirium, osteoporosis, movement disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease, and frailty.
We also provide support to surgical and orthopaedic patients with our orthogeriatrics team and surgical liaison specialists. Community geriatricians work between primary and secondary care to provide a seamless service for our older patients.
The department has outpatient clinics for movement disorders, bone health and falls.
