The Department of Medicine for Older People specialises in care of people over the age of 65.

We assess and treat patients for falls, dementia and delirium, movement disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease, and frailty.

We also provide specialist support and guidance to colleagues caring for older patients who may need surgery.

Prior to surgery, older patients may be referred to a dedicated assessment clinic, if their consultant feels additional support would be helpful.

Patients with movement disorders may be transferred to Broadgreen.
