We are equipped with an on-site CT scanner and dedicated emergency operating theatres, allowing life-saving investigations and surgery to take place without delay, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Working together to provide specialist care
We work closely with partner organisations across Liverpool City Region to ensure patients receive the specialist treatment they need, including:
- The Walton Centre, providing specialist neurosurgical care for patients with brain and spinal injuries.
- Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, Liverpool Women's University Hospital and Alder Hey Children's Hospital, which provide specialist support and intervention during emergency incidents and major incidents.
The hospital has a dedicated helipad located adjacent to the emergency department, enabling rapid transfer of critically injured patients from across the region.
This supports our role as a regional centre for major trauma, providing timely access to specialist care when every minute matters.
