Our dedicated volunteers offer practical support and a welcoming friendly face to our patients and visitors.

The Volunteer Service is well established at LUHFT and is an essential part of the Trust’s strategy to deliver great care by supporting clinical teams across our sites.

Volunteers provide additional support for patients and families and create a valuable sense of community, which leads to improvements in patient and family experience.
Ranging from ages 16 to 80+, our volunteers support patients across our hospitals in a variety of roles.

This could be directing and accompanying patients, supporting patients at mealtimes, and offering refreshments in our busy Emergency Department, to providing valuable companionship for patients and their families reaching the end of their life.
